Frequently Asked Questions

What is Federation Command?

A membership platform for fans of the Federation universe. Join a chapter, progress in rank, train at the Academy, and serve on missions.

Do I need to pay to join?

No. Federation Officer membership is enough to read the chapter directory, browse the rank catalog, and try one cadet course. The Officer Plus tier ($12 / year) unlocks chapter membership, all academy courses, and rank progression. The Lifetime Member tier ($150 once) is for those who want it forever.

I am under 18. Can I join?

Yes — younger members are welcome on the Enlisted Track.

How do ranks work?

Ranks are held by the individual member and persist across chapter transfers. Promotion is based on tenure, training completed, and achievements earned.

What is a chapter?

A community group: a Ship, Starbase, or Shuttle. Each chapter has a Commanding Officer, a roster of crew members, and its own events, announcements, and Captain’s Log.

How do I get involved as a leader?

Officers in good standing can be designated CO of a chapter. Senior mentors can be appointed to the CPO/Mentor track to guide newer members. HQ Staff and Council seats are filled democratically.
